Regional Communications Manager

About the role

The Regional Communications Manager will create and manage communication materials that showcase Medair’s life‑saving work across the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bangladesh and Madagascar. Working from Goma, you will support programme teams, the Engagement team and affiliate offices, ensuring that stories reach donors, partners and the public.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, produce and edit communication assets (photos, videos, quotes, donor‑facing materials) that highlight Medair’s mission and humanitarian impact.
• Develop and implement country‑specific communication strategies that reinforce Medair’s reputation as an emergency response organisation.
• Coordinate with the global content team to create social‑media posts, press releases, editorial pieces and corporate materials.
• Organise field visits for high‑profile visitors, journalists and media crews, handling logistics and briefing materials.
• Maintain and update global media libraries with approved resources from field staff and freelance photographers.
• Monitor humanitarian media coverage to identify opportunities for press coverage and pitch stories to journalists.

Required profile

• Proven experience in communications within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Ability to work in field environments and travel frequently between DR Congo, Bangladesh and Madagascar.
• Strong written and verbal English skills, with a talent for storytelling.
• Capacity to collaborate with programme leaders, donors and external media partners.
