Risk and Compliance Specialist

About the role

Under the supervision of the Risk and Compliance Manager, you will strengthen risk assurance and compliance efforts for UNICEF's large‑scale country office in Kinshasa. You will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of risk management practices across processes, systems and entities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide risk‑management support, including risk identification, assessment and mitigation.
• Deliver compliance support to ensure adherence to organisational rules, regulations and ethical standards.
• Assist with fraud‑risk management activities and investigations.
• Offer oversight and advisory services to senior management.
• Create awareness and build capacity on risk and compliance topics.
• Coordinate any required support from the regional office.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Business Administration, Financial Management, Operations Management, Strategic Management, Risk Management, Audit, Investigation, Internal Control or Statistics.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in risk and compliance, internal audit or related fields, preferably with international organisations, NGOs or the UN.
• Demonstrated experience in financial management, developing financial control systems, enterprise risk management and internal audits.
• Fluency in both French and English.
