Risk and Compliance Specialist

About the role

Under the supervision of the Risk and Compliance Manager, you will strengthen risk assurance and compliance efforts within UNICEF's large‑scale country office in Kinshasa. You will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of risk management practices across processes, systems and entities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide risk management support, including identification, assessment and mitigation of risks.
• Deliver compliance support to ensure adherence to organizational rules, regulations and ethical standards.
• Assist with fraud risk management activities and investigations.
• Offer oversight and advisory services to senior management on risk‑related matters.
• Create awareness and build capacity on risk and compliance topics among staff.
• Coordinate any required support from the regional office.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Business Administration, Financial Management, Operations Management, Strategic Management, Risk Management, Audit, Investigation, Internal Control or Statistics.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in risk and compliance, with several years in internal audit.
• Experience designing and implementing financial control systems, enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks and internal audits, preferably within international organisations, NGOs or the UN.
• Fluency in both French and English.
