SBC Officer (Digital) – Temporary Appointment

About the role

The Digital Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) Officer will support UNICEF’s emergency response to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Working under the Chief of Social and Behaviour Change, the officer will design and implement digital communication strategies to promote protective behaviours, counter misinformation, and engage communities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan and implement evidence‑based digital SBC and risk communication strategies.
• Conduct social listening, gather community feedback and analyse data to inform interventions.
• Coordinate with RCCE‑AAP/SBC specialists, government partners, UN agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Provide operational support for digital tools, platforms and technology‑enabled engagement.
• Build capacity of partners, document lessons learned and support scaling of successful approaches.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of the Chief, Social and Behaviour Change.
• Experience collaborating with multi‑sectoral teams and external partners in humanitarian settings.
• Strong cultural sensitivity and adaptability to complex, evolving contexts.
