Senior Business Development Manager

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is creating a Senior Business Development Manager position to lead donor‑focused business development activities for its Democratic Republic of Congo programme. Based in Kinshasa, the role will support the organisation’s resource mobilisation strategy and work closely with field teams across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Regularly review and update donor mapping to identify new funding opportunities.
• Coordinate and track donor engagement efforts across the DRC programme.
• Develop and support the preparation of donor pitches, concept notes, and full proposals.
• Report to the Grants Coordinator and ensure alignment with the IRC DRC Resource Mobilisation Strategy.
• Travel approximately 30% of the time to Goma, provincial offices, and field sites.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in business development, donor relations, or fundraising within the humanitarian sector.
• Proven ability to manage donor pipelines and produce high‑quality proposal documents.
• Strong coordination skills and capacity to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the DRC.
