Senior Finance Manager – DRC

About the role

GiveDirectly is scaling its finance function to support over $1 billion in cash transfers. The Senior Finance Manager for the Democratic Republic of Congo will lead a dedicated finance pod, providing end‑to‑end financial oversight for the country and potentially additional regions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary finance contact for DRC, supporting the Country Director with budgeting, forecasting, and donor reporting.
• Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring accurate financial statements and timely reporting.
• Oversee country‑level accounting activities, including transaction review, coding, reconciliations and data integrity.
• Implement and strengthen internal controls, fraud prevention measures, and compliance with donor, tax and local regulations.
• Prepare for audits, manage external reporting requirements and follow up on audit findings.
• Maintain relationships with banks, auditors, regulators and government stakeholders.
• Lead, coach and develop a finance pod, setting clear performance expectations.
• Drive process and system improvements to increase efficiency and consistency.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in finance management, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Proven track record of ensuring compliance with donor requirements and local regulations.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, capable of building and managing a high‑performing finance team.
