Senior Metal Accountant

About the role

Kamoto Copper Company (KCC SA) is seeking a Senior Metal Accountant to lead daily metals accounting activities at its Kolwezi operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to the Metals Accounting Superintendent, you will ensure accurate data collection, validation, and reporting across production, laboratory, and inventory functions.

Key responsibilities

• Control and reconcile daily metals accounting data, including production, analysis, and stock figures.
• Validate first‑level reconciliations and identify any sampling, analysis, or measurement biases.
• Collaborate with the laboratory and instrumentation teams to maintain data quality and instrument integrity.
• Coordinate inventory management for finished goods and work‑in‑progress, supporting physical‑accounting stock reconciliations and audit preparations.
• Supervise and mentor a team of specialized metals accounting officers, allocate tasks, and monitor execution.
• Prepare consolidated reports for the Superintendent, conduct preliminary performance analyses, and flag abnormal KPI trends for further investigation.
• Support metallurgical research through detailed data analysis and rigorous documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Data Science, Data Analysis, or a related field.
• Proven experience in metals accounting or similar accounting functions within an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to detect inconsistencies and drive corrective actions.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise between production, laboratory, and finance teams.
