Senior Project Manager – Mining Projects

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, monitoring and delivery of capital and sustaining projects across Mutanda Mining’s operations. Reporting to the General Manager – Projects, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within scope and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules and budgets using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational readiness activities.
• Manage contractors, consultants and service providers, ensuring compliance with Glencore and MUMI standards.
• Lead stakeholder engagement, risk management, change control and project governance.
• Monitor project performance, report progress to senior management and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Process Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Preferred PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification.
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing capital projects in mining, EPCM, heavy industrial or infrastructure environments.
• Proven track record delivering multidisciplinary projects through the full lifecycle.
• Experience with open‑pit mining operations is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
