Senior Protection Coordinator – Kinshasa

About the role

The Senior Protection Coordinator will lead IOM’s protection activities in Kinshasa, ensuring the rights of migrants and displaced persons are respected and their exposure to violence reduced. The role supports the implementation of IOM’s protection approach in line with the Inter‑Agency Standing Committee.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and safeguard the rights of individuals across operational contexts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
• Work with State authorities as primary duty‑bearers to ensure compliance with relevant legal frameworks.
• Provide thematic guidance, direct assistance, convening and dialogue, advocacy and communication as part of the protection pillar.
• Coordinate with IOM programmes and partners to reduce risks of violence and address protection needs.

Required profile

• Qualified candidates from first‑tier or second‑tier pools as defined by IOM, with particular encouragement for female applicants.
• Experience in protection, migration, humanitarian or related fields.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and collaborate with governmental and non‑governmental partners.
