Social & Behaviour Change Officer (RCCE) – 6‑Month Temporary Role in DRC

About the role

The Social & Behaviour Change Officer (RCCE) will support UNICEF’s Ebola response in the North Kivu and Ituri provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Working under the RCCE/Social and Behaviour Change Specialist, the officer will help design, implement and monitor community‑based risk communication and behaviour change activities over a six‑month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and analyse evidence on community perceptions and behaviours related to Ebola.
• Plan, implement and coordinate field‑level RCCE and SBC interventions in Butembo, Beni and Bunia.
• Facilitate community feedback mechanisms and social listening activities.
• Support partner coordination and resource mobilisation for SBC activities.
• Provide capacity‑building and learning support to local teams and partners.

Required profile

• University degree in social or behavioural sciences, sociology, anthropology, communication or a related field.
• Experience in community engagement, risk communication or behaviour change in humanitarian settings.
• Ability to work in insecure, multi‑cultural environments and adapt quickly.
