Solar Engineer

About the role

Solution 4 Energy is seeking a full‑time Solar Engineer to join its on‑site team in Lubumbashi. You will design photovoltaic (PV) systems for rooftop and ground‑mounted installations, ensuring they are efficient, reliable, and compliant with all relevant codes.

Key responsibilities

• Design PV system layouts, size components, and select appropriate equipment.
• Prepare electrical designs, single‑line diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Conduct site assessments and perform energy‑yield calculations.
• Ensure designs meet local codes, standards, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and installation crews during execution.
• Review technical documentation and resolve engineering issues on‑site.
• Analyze performance of existing systems and recommend optimization or maintenance strategies.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Proven experience in solar project design and execution.
• Strong knowledge of solar industry technologies, market trends, and applicable standards.
• Ability to interpret codes, prepare clear technical documentation, and work collaboratively on‑site.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PV design and simulation tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, and AutoCAD.
• Expertise in electrical design, including load calculations and protection schemes.
• Capability to produce single‑line diagrams and technical drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
