WASH Project Manager (Humanitarian)

About the role

Medair is seeking a WASH Project Manager to lead water, sanitation and hygiene initiatives for displaced and vulnerable populations in North Kivu, DR Congo. The role combines project delivery, team leadership and coordination with local stakeholders in a challenging emergency environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor WASH and related infrastructure projects to meet quality, timeline and budget targets.
• Supervise field activities, prepare exit strategies and produce regular progress reports.
• Coordinate with affected communities, local authorities and other humanitarian actors to ensure effective representation of Medair.
• Line‑manage the WASH team, provide coaching, and recruit additional staff in partnership with HR.
• Manage project budgets, track expenditures and develop budgets for new initiatives.
• Oversee procurement of supplies and services, maintaining an up‑to‑date procurement plan.

Required profile

• University degree in Water/Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydrology or related field.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in water and sanitation project management.
• Proven experience working in WASH programmes in developing or humanitarian contexts.
• Fluent in English and French (spoken and written).
