Water and Sanitation Manager

About the role

MSF is seeking a Water and Sanitation Manager to lead WASH activities that protect vulnerable populations from water‑borne diseases. The role involves planning, implementing and supervising safe water supply, sanitation facilities, waste management and hygiene promotion across health facilities and community settings such as refugee camps.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, budget and monitor all water, hygiene and sanitation (WatSan) activities in coordination with the Project Coordinator and Medical Team Leader.
• Ensure daily implementation complies with MSF standards, protocols and procedures.
• Design, construct or upgrade water supply systems and sanitary facilities.
• Support waste management and vector‑control measures.
• Promote hygiene practices and conduct community awareness sessions.
• Train, supervise and mentor locally hired staff and collaborate closely with medical and non‑medical teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in water, hygiene and sanitation projects, preferably in humanitarian or emergency contexts.
• Strong ability to plan, budget and monitor programmes.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with capacity to train and supervise staff.
• Flexibility to work in challenging field environments.
