AI Consultancy for Education Management Information Systems (EMIS)

About the role

The Pan African Institute for Education for Development (IPED) seeks an expert consultant to explore the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) across African countries. The consultancy will identify best practices, assess opportunities and challenges, and deliver actionable policy recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive desk review of global AI applications in EMIS.
• Assess the current status, opportunities, and challenges of AI integration within national EMIS frameworks.
• Document global and local best practices relevant to the African context.
• Develop actionable policy recommendations tailored to individual country needs.
• Prepare a final report summarizing findings, recommendations, and implementation pathways.
• Present findings to IPED stakeholders and relevant education ministries.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in education, data science, information systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience with EMIS, education data analytics, or AI-driven policy analysis.
• Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
