Associate Engineer – Prefab & MSU Installation Technician

About the role

CTG is seeking an Associate Engineer to lead the installation of prefabricated facilities and Mobile Storage Units (MSUs) for the Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role involves hands‑on technical guidance, site assessment and supervision to ensure rapid, safe and compliant deployment of temporary logistics infrastructure in Bunia, Beni and other forward hubs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical planning and execution of prefab and MSU installations.
• Conduct site assessments, prepare layout plans and define installation methodologies.
• Supervise erection works, coordinate basic civil works and ensure quality control.
• Monitor occupational safety standards and enforce UN procedural compliance.
• Hand over completed structures for operational use by humanitarian partners.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field, or first degree with relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in civil work, construction supervision, prefab installation or MSU erection.
• Experience working with UN agencies, NGOs or in emergency logistics in remote, high‑risk locations.
• At least 3 years experience in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
• Fluent French; working knowledge of English.
