Auto Mechanic Executive – Garage Department

About the role

The Auto Mechanic Executive will lead the garage department of LIBERTY SARL in Lubumbashi. This full‑time, on‑site position is responsible for ensuring the vehicle fleet remains safe, reliable and cost‑effective through proactive maintenance and timely repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and execute daily vehicle maintenance and repair activities.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, scheduled servicing and major overhauls on engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, braking and cooling systems.
• Repair electrical components such as sensors, wiring, batteries, alternators and starter motors.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair reports and maintenance histories.
• Coordinate with fleet, operations and spare‑parts teams to ensure vehicle availability.
• Monitor spare‑parts usage and trigger inventory replenishment when needed.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, company standards and workplace safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in automotive repair and maintenance, preferably in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of modern vehicle systems and diagnostic procedures.
• Ability to organize workflow, manage a team of mechanics and communicate effectively with internal customers.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
