Business and Sustainability Development Models Expert

About the role

The Upemba National Park seeks an experienced expert to design and implement sustainable business and development models that generate revenue for the park while delivering social and environmental benefits to surrounding communities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess economically viable activities aligned with conservation goals.
• Structure and pilot business models, agricultural value‑chain projects, and social‑enterprise initiatives.
• Develop financing strategies and revenue‑generation mechanisms suitable for challenging environments.
• Collaborate with park management, local stakeholders, and partners to ensure implementation and monitoring.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to community groups and park staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, agricultural value chains, or social‑enterprise creation.
• Demonstrated ability to design financing mechanisms and sustainable economic models.
• Strong understanding of conservation financing and community‑based development.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
