Carbon Excellence Country Coordinator (Kinshasa)

About the role

The Carbon Excellence Country Coordinator will lead the implementation of BURN’s carbon excellence framework for biomass projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Based in Kinshasa, you will ensure project integrity, monitor carbon performance, and support sustainable stove adoption through data‑driven processes and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Own carbon performance across all biomass carbon projects in DRC, tracking metrics such as customer reachability, stove‑to‑customer match accuracy, verified usage and sustained adoption.
• Identify early‑warning signals and provide structured performance and risk reports to senior leadership.
• Ensure distribution complies with carbon methodology eligibility criteria, monitoring geographic targeting, sales onboarding quality and customer profile compliance.
• Correct deviations such as out‑of‑scope customer acquisition and weak targeting practices to protect long‑term carbon outcomes.
• Collaborate with Customer Experience, Commercial and Product teams to improve customer satisfaction, product‑market fit and sustained stove usage.
• Act as the voice of the customer, translating field insights into actionable improvements for onboarding, financing, and support.
• Support the rollout of digital monitoring tools, validate field data for completeness, consistency and traceability.
• Lead risk‑management processes and coordinate corrective actions when performance gaps are identified.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing carbon or climate‑related projects, preferably in biomass or clean‑cooking sectors.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret performance data and generate risk reports.
• Excellent stakeholder coordination skills across cross‑functional teams.
• Understanding of carbon verification standards and methodology requirements.
• Fluency in English; French is a plus for local engagement.
