Child Protection Specialist (NO-3), Fixed‑Term, Kinshasa

About the role

The Child Protection Specialist will support UNICEF’s mission to create a safe environment for children in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to the Chief, Child Protection, the specialist will lead the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of child protection programmes at the country level.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare child protection programmes in line with UNICEF strategic plans and RBM methodology.
• Manage programme implementation, ensuring timely delivery of results and compliance with reporting standards.
• Provide technical guidance and operational support to field teams and partners.
• Facilitate networking, partnership building and knowledge sharing with national and international stakeholders.
• Contribute to innovation, capacity building and knowledge management within the child protection sector.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, social science or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in child protection, social development planning or related management roles.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multicultural environments and to manage complex programmes.
