Communication Specialist (P-3) – Temporary 6‑Month Assignment

About the role

The Communication Specialist will support UNICEF’s Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo by creating and disseminating high‑quality multimedia content. Working under the Ebola Response Coordinator and with a dotted‑line to the Chief of Communication, the role ensures visibility, advocacy, and fundraising messages reach target audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, produce, and distribute multimedia materials (photos, videos, graphics) for the Ebola response.
• Coordinate with programme sections, field teams, and partners to align communication outputs with UNICEF standards.
• Support advocacy and fundraising campaigns through tailored content.
• Maintain a content calendar and ensure timely delivery of communication products.
• Provide technical guidance on content creation tools and best practices.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (e.g., Master’s) in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
• Experience working in humanitarian or public‑health emergencies is desirable.
• Ability to work in a complex, insecure environment and adapt to rapidly changing contexts.
