Conservation Pilot – Okapi Wildlife Reserve

About the role

The Conservation Pilot supports wildlife protection and anti‑poaching operations at the Okapi Wildlife Reserve in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Working under the Field Operations Manager and the WCS Aviation Fleet Manager, the pilot ensures safe and reliable air transport for field teams, supplies, and emergency missions.

Key responsibilities

• Operate aircraft safely in remote and challenging environments.
• Coordinate flight schedules with park anti‑poaching teams and national logistical units.
• Provide air transport for personnel, equipment, and medical evacuations.
• Maintain communication with ground teams to support field operations across the reserve.
• Travel within the DRC, Uganda and undertake occasional international trips as required.

Required profile

• Experience working in conservation or remote‑field settings.
• Ability to collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams, including anti‑poaching and logistical staff.
• Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to variable field conditions.
