About the role

As General Coordinator (Chief of Mission) for Médecins du Monde in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, you will lead the implementation of health and humanitarian programmes across Kinshasa, North‑Kivu and Tanganyika. You will ensure that interventions in sexual and reproductive health, environmental health and emergency response are delivered efficiently and in line with the organisation’s values of social justice.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution and monitoring of health projects in the three provinces.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams, ensuring coordination between field staff, partners and headquarters.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, donors and community stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Médecins du Monde policies, safety standards and donor requirements.
• Prepare budgets, financial reports and programme evaluations.
• Represent the organisation in public forums and advocacy activities.

Required profile

• Significant experience in managing health or humanitarian programmes in conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Fluency in French; proficiency in English is an asset.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Commitment to Médecins du Monde’s mission of social justice.
