Corporate Affairs Manager – Legal & Governance

About the role

The Kipushi Project is seeking a senior legal professional to lead its Corporate Affairs function. You will advise senior management on legal risks, ensure compliance with DRC legislation, and drive corporate governance across the mining operation.

Key responsibilities

• Define, manage and coordinate a world‑class Corporate Affairs function.
• Implement policies, plans and governance structures aligned with company objectives.
• Drive execution of the Corporate Affairs strategy, set departmental priorities and ensure alignment with business needs.
• Develop and embed corporate governance, compliance, integrity and ethics frameworks.
• Oversee permitting processes, ensuring all required licences are obtained and maintained.
• Provide timely regulatory advice to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with a Bachelor of Law.
• 10+ years of experience in civil and common law, managing a legal function.
• Prior in‑house legal experience; mining sector exposure is a strong advantage.
• Fluency in French and English.
• Demonstrated emotional intelligence and ability to communicate legislation to diverse audiences.
• Experience working in sub‑Saharan Africa (excluding South Africa) and in permitting & regulatory environments.
