Country Lead

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate KIIs, FGDs and surveys with the DRC country team, VIG team and relevant stakeholders.
• Support and monitor field teams to ensure timely and high-quality data collection.
• Ensure accurate translation and transcription of interviews and discussions from local languages into English, where required.
• Conduct quality checks of transcripts, field documentation and collected data.
• Maintain accurate records of completed and pending data collection activities.
• Ensure secure management, storage and submission of project data in line with data protection requirements.
• Participate in coordination and debriefing meetings with VIG and relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor progress against agreed targets and timelines.
• Promptly report delays, access constraints, safeguarding concerns or other implementation challenges.
• Ensure compliance with ethical, safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection requirements throughout the research process.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the Democratic Republic of the Congo context and experience supporting field‑based research.
• Experience with KIIs, FGDs, surveys and primary data collection.
• Strong skills in translation, transcription, data management and quality assurance.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with field teams and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of research ethics, safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection.
• Ability to work effectively to agreed timelines and maintain accurate documentation.
