Country Manager (Expat position based in the DRC)

About the role

This senior management position is responsible for leading all logistics and mining support operations at a remote mine site in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Country Manager combines strategic boardroom leadership with hands‑on operational oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Manage multi‑disciplinary teams across Finance, HSE, Clearing and Workshop departments.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee fleet and equipment maintenance plans, daily job allocations and workflow management.
• Financial Stewardship: Own the P&L and balance sheet, ensure compliance with group financial procedures, tax regulations and deliver robust monthly reporting.
• Business Growth: Identify and develop new business streams such as equipment handling and clearing opportunities, supported by detailed financial modeling and forecasting.
• Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations, reduce costs and boost overall financial performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in logistics or mining.
• Proven experience operating in the DRC or similarly high‑pressure, remote environments.
• Full professional fluency in French and English.
• Proactive, flexible leader capable of influencing stakeholders and meeting constant deadlines.

Required skills

• Strong financial modeling and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of SAP or SAGE ERP systems (highly advantageous).
