Country Manager – Logistics & Mining Operations

About the role

The organisation seeks a commercially astute Country Manager to lead all operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This senior position combines strategic oversight with hands‑on execution across logistics, clearing, finance and workshop functions in a remote mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee country‑wide operations, coordinating logistics, clearing, workshop and finance teams.
• Manage day‑to‑day activities on a remote mining site, ensuring service delivery and operational efficiency.
• Supervise customs and clearing processes to maintain compliance with DRC regulations.
• Maintain fleet and equipment uptime (≥90%) through preventative maintenance programmes.
• Own full P&L, balance‑sheet and financial reporting; analyse performance to drive cost optimisation.
• Develop business plans, forecasts and financial models to support strategic decisions.
• Ensure adherence to group financial policies, manage tax and regulatory queries, and implement risk‑mitigation frameworks.
• Identify new business opportunities in logistics, equipment, and clearing services; expand market presence in mining and industrial sectors.
• Lead, mentor and develop a multi‑disciplinary team, fostering a performance‑driven culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in logistics, mining or heavy‑industry operations.
• Proven track record managing end‑to‑end operations in remote or site‑based environments.
• Experience in the DRC or similar emerging‑market contexts is highly advantageous.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to drive profitability and growth.
