Deputy Logistics Manager

About the role

The Deputy Logistics Manager will support the Country Logistics Manager in delivering effective logistics and supply‑chain services for Medair’s multi‑sector relief programme in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Based in Goma, the role ensures that logistics systems are operational, assets are managed, and programme needs are met across field locations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of supply‑chain processes to ensure compliance with Medair standards.
• Assist the Country Logistics Manager in procurement, fleet, equipment and asset management.
• Coordinate international and national freight movements by land, sea and air, optimizing cost and timeliness.
• Support logistics assessments, budgeting and planning to secure adequate resources.
• Maintain accurate filing systems and documentation for logistics activities.
• Act as the country focal point for digital procurement software implementation and digital literacy initiatives.
• Represent the logistics function externally and ensure legal compliance.

Required profile

• Significant experience in humanitarian logistics or supply‑chain management.
• Proven ability to manage fleet, equipment and assets in challenging environments.
• Experience supervising logistics teams and building staff capacity.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to act in the manager’s absence.
