Emergency Project Manager – Uvira or Bukavu

About the role

Acted is seeking an Emergency Project Manager to lead rapid‑response interventions in the eastern DRC, based in Uvira or Bukavu. The role will coordinate multi‑sectoral activities that address the immediate needs of displaced and host communities affected by conflict, climate shocks and health crises.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor emergency programmes covering food assistance, shelter, WASH, camp coordination and education.
• Lead coordination with local authorities, NGOs, UN agencies and other partners to ensure a coherent response.
• Manage project budgets, reporting requirements and compliance with donor regulations (US State Department, ECHO, FCDO, etc.).
• Supervise field staff and ensure the safety and security of teams operating in volatile environments.
• Contribute to resilience‑building activities such as livelihood support, agricultural recovery and local economic development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian or development project management, preferably in emergency settings.
• Strong understanding of the intersection between humanitarian response and climate/environmental challenges.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to adapt approaches to rapidly changing contexts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
