English Second Language Teacher

About the role

United Friends' College (UFC) is seeking a full‑time English Second Language Teacher to join its Kinshasa campus. You will deliver engaging English lessons to learners of diverse ages and proficiency levels, both in the classroom and through supplemental activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver structured English lessons using learner‑centered methods.
• Assess student progress through tests, quizzes, assignments and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance and grading.
• Design and administer examinations, including preparation for international tests such as IELTS.
• Participate in staff meetings, collaborate on curriculum development and support extracurricular language activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics or a related field.
• TEFL, TESOL or CELTA certification preferred.
• Fluent spoken and written English with strong classroom management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and promote inclusive practices.
• Willingness to teach on‑site in Kinshasa and collaborate with colleagues.

Required skills

• Lesson planning and delivery for English as a foreign language.
• Familiarity with IELTS preparation and other standardized English assessments.
