Ethics, Compliance and Contractor Representative

About the role

KMTR, a cross-border transport greenfield corridor linking the DRC Copperbelt with Zambia, is hiring an Ethics, Compliance and Contractor Representative. Reporting to the General Manager, the role ensures the company operates in line with laws, regulations, contractual obligations and corporate governance standards, and acts as the main interface with contractors. It safeguards the company's integrity and reputation across the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the ethics and compliance framework, and ensure compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Promote a culture of integrity and ethical business conduct.
• Manage whistleblowing mechanisms and compliance investigations.
• Monitor contractor compliance, oversee contract performance and service delivery, identify contractual risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate contract reviews and claims management.
• Support corporate governance, internal controls, compliance assessments and audits, and report on risks and mitigation plans to Executive Management.
• Liaise with contractors, legal advisors, regulators and public authorities, and support negotiations and dispute resolution.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Law, Business Administration, Compliance or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in compliance, legal, contract management or corporate governance.
• Experience in infrastructure, construction, mining, transport or PPP projects.
• Experience in Central Africa, preferably in the DRC and/or Zambia.
