Excavator Operator

About the role

The Excavator Operator will join KISWISHI OPERATIONS in Kasenga to safely operate excavators and related heavy equipment on construction, mining and civil‑engineering projects. This full‑time, on‑site position involves daily earthworks, trenching, loading and grading according to project specifications and strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavators and other heavy machinery to perform excavation, trenching, loading and grading tasks.
• Inspect equipment before and after use, report defects and coordinate maintenance.
• Read and follow site plans, supervisor instructions and basic drawings.
• Collaborate with ground crews and other machine operators to ensure smooth workflow.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all site safety, environmental and company policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating excavators in construction, mining or related environments.
• Hands‑on experience with excavation and trench work, including depth, slope and alignment control.
• Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of site safety practices and ability to recognise hazards.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform tasks such as climbing, lifting and long periods of sitting in equipment.
• Relevant vocational training, operator certification or licensing is an advantage.
