Finance Intern – Bukavu Office

About the role

Christian Aid is looking for a Finance Intern to support the financial and administrative functions of its Bukavu office. This three‑month fixed‑term position offers full‑time exposure to day‑to‑day finance operations in a humanitarian setting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage office petty cash and ensure compliance with Christian Aid cash‑keeping procedures.
• Record daily financial transactions in the accounting software and maintain an up‑to‑date ledger.
• Prepare and submit monthly cash‑flow forecasts and cash count reports to the national office.
• Process payments (cash, check, transfer) after proper authorisation.
• Monitor DRC tax regulations and keep the office compliant.
• Maintain relationships with banks and tax authorities and update the asset register regularly.
• Assist program staff in assessing the financial capacity of potential partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with program teams.
• Willingness to adhere to Christian Aid policies and DRC legal requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Cash handling and bank reconciliation.
• Understanding of DRC tax regulations.
