Financial Specialist – Special Projects and Major Grants

About the role

The Financial Specialist will support special projects and major grants for WFP and UNOCHA in the North Kivu, South Kivu and Ituri provinces. The role focuses on budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring timely disbursement of funds to partners while maintaining compliance with donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting and budget revisions for WFP and UNOCHA portfolios, collaborating with program and finance teams.
• Provide monthly and quarterly funding forecasts and track usage against project performance.
• Ensure accurate and timely upload of budgets and financial data into the WVDRC SUN system.
• Prepare and maintain reporting templates, conduct monthly reconciliations, and perform quarterly partner financial spot checks.
• Coordinate PBAS commitments and credit SA transactions, ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.
• Liaise with partners to obtain financial reports, resolve reporting issues, and support audit processes.

Required profile

• Experience in financial management, budgeting, and grant administration within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong analytical abilities to produce forecasts and reconcile accounts.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with partners, senior analysts, and internal teams.
