General Practitioner (GP) – International Project

About the role

Iqarus is seeking experienced General Practitioners to join an international healthcare project in the Democratic Republic of Congo. You will work as part of a multi‑disciplined team delivering primary, occupational and emergency medical services in a challenging environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe clinical care 24/7, diagnosing and treating illnesses and minor injuries.
• Manage and stabilise trauma cases before evacuation to higher‑level facilities.
• Conduct medical examinations, vaccinations and case reviews for client personnel.
• Maintain pharmacy and consumable stock levels, including a controlled‑drug register.
• Escalate serious, contagious or parenteral cases to the client medical officer and Regional Medical Director.
• Assist with mass‑casualty incidents and follow the Major Incident Plan.
• Support the delivery and administration of medical training as required.

Required profile

• Medical graduate, fully licensed in the country of origin.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a General Practitioner with formal postgraduate training.
• Post‑graduate experience in emergency medicine, pre‑hospital medicine and/or retrieval.
• Current certifications in ACLS/ALS and ATLS/ITLS/ETC/PHTLS.
• Fluency in French.
