Head of Programmes – Democratic Republic of Congo

About the role

The Head of Programmes will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of humanitarian interventions in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This senior position requires strong proposal writing abilities, donor management experience and the capacity to operate in a high‑risk environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and submit successful proposals to major institutional donors.
• Provide technical guidance in at least one sector such as emergency response, nutrition, cash distribution, climate, livelihoods, food security, public health, WASH or MEAL.
• Organise, plan and prioritise programme activities, delegating duties to team members.
• Ensure programme delivery under tightened security and safety measures.

Required profile

• Proven track record in proposal writing for major donors.
• University degree in management, public administration, development studies or a relevant sector (advantageous).
• Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work under high stress, in difficult security conditions.
