Head of Value & Access

About the role

Novartis is seeking a senior leader to shape and execute the national access strategy for priority therapeutic areas and key assets across the country. The Head of Value & Access will drive integrated access plans, pricing, reimbursement and health‑economic evidence generation to ensure timely patient access and commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of the national access strategy, including target product profiles and indication sequencing.
• Build strategic partnerships with government, payers, hospitals, patient groups and other ecosystem stakeholders to co‑create sustainable access solutions.
• Define and execute national pricing strategy, conduct pricing research, forecast scenarios and lead price‑and‑reimbursement negotiations, including outcome‑based agreements.
• Develop and oversee HEOR/HTA strategies, evidence planning, value dossiers, economic models and HTA submissions that meet payer requirements.
• Manage Access Field teams, coordinate with hospitals, insurers and wholesalers, and support early‑access schemes and contract execution.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, foster a high‑performance culture, manage talent pipelines and act as a role model for Novartis leadership expectations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in access strategy, pricing, reimbursement and health‑economic evaluation within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
• Strong track record of building and managing partnerships with public and private payers, policymakers and patient organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive complex, multi‑stakeholder projects to successful outcomes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on innovative contracting solutions.
• Leadership mindset aligned with Novartis values, capable of developing talent and fostering a collaborative environment.
