Health Manager (P-4) – Emergency Ebola Response (6 months)

About the role

Under the strategic leadership of the Chief of Health and direct supervision of the Senior Project Coordinator, the Health Manager (P‑4) will provide high‑level technical and operational support to improve the quality, timeliness, convergence and accountability of UNICEF‑supported interventions in Ebola‑affected hotspots.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor epidemiological data and surveillance activities.
• Lead community‑based surveillance, case finding and contact follow‑up.
• Oversee holistic case management, including clinical care for pediatric Ebola patients.
• Ensure continuity of essential health services during the outbreak.
• Drive community engagement and cross‑sectoral convergence.
• Manage programme implementation, supervise teams and build partnerships.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in medicine with postgraduate training in public health, epidemiology, infectious‑disease control or a related field.
• Minimum eight years of experience planning, managing and implementing public‑health emergency programmes at national and international levels.
• Demonstrated experience in outbreak response, including surveillance, alert investigation, contact follow‑up, coordination and programme monitoring.
• Proven ability to analyse epidemiological and operational data, formulate decision‑oriented recommendations and communicate with technical, government and donor audiences.
• Fluency in French and English.
