About the role
The Health, Nutrition & IPC Manager will lead the planning and delivery of health, nutrition and infection prevention and control (IPC) components for the Kinga Maisha and MAPLE projects responding to the 17th Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Reporting to the Kinga Maisha Project Director, the role ensures compliance with donor, government and Save the Children standards while supporting high‑quality, accountable emergency response.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement project plans for health, nutrition and IPC activities, meeting timelines, budget and quality standards.
- Coordinate with other Save the Children project managers in Ituri to align interventions and ensure synergy across health zones and centres.
- Provide technical input for the establishment and operation of Observation Care Centres, integrating clinical pathways, nutrition support and strict IPC measures.
- Lead forecasting, quantification, procurement planning and monitoring of medicines, medical commodities, nutrition products, IPC supplies and equipment.
- Supervise, mentor and evaluate the project teams, setting priorities and strengthening capabilities.
- Represent Save the Children in national and sub‑national coordination forums, contributing to technical planning and evidence‑based decision‑making.
- Promote continuous quality improvement, capture lessons learned and support preparedness for future public health emergencies.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing health, nutrition and IPC programmes in humanitarian or emergency settings.
- Strong knowledge of WHO guidelines, national health policies and Save the Children standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and work collaboratively with government and partners.
- Excellent analytical, planning and reporting skills.
Required skills
- Forecasting and quantification of health commodities.
- Procurement planning and monitoring of medical and nutrition supplies.
- Supply chain management for essential medicines and IPC equipment.
- Implementation of IPC measures and standard operating procedures.
