Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Manager – DRC (French required)

About the role
The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Manager will lead the IPC programme for MSF’s Ebola emergency response in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role ensures safe care for patients, caretakers and staff by implementing MSF protocols and adapting them to resource‑limited field conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Define, implement and monitor the annual IPC plan in collaboration with the IPC committee and supervisor.
- Set up regular monitoring mechanisms, analyse results and propose corrective actions.
- Maintain surveillance systems for health‑care associated infections and contribute to contingency planning.
- Supervise the application of standard and transmission‑based precautions across all departments, including sterilisation, laundry, kitchen and hygiene services.
- Design and enforce clean‑and‑dirty flow, isolation algorithms and outbreak detection procedures.
- Ensure environmental standards, proper use of antiseptics, disinfectants and waste management.
- Monitor consumption and quality of IPC materials and equipment.
- Plan and oversee HR processes for the IPC team, including recruitment, training, evaluation and motivation.
- Report irregularities to the functional manager and produce monthly medical reports with recommendations.
Required profile
- French proficiency at least B2 level.
- 3‑4 years of experience in Ebola, VHF, outbreak or emergency response (strong asset).
- Professional background in nursing, medicine, epidemiology or pharmacy.
- Validated IPC diploma (mandatory) – preferably recognised by the OC IPC advisor.
- Desirable additional qualification in Tropical Medicine.
- Ability to work in fast‑changing, high‑pressure humanitarian settings and remote, resource‑limited environments.
