IT Operations Associate

About the role

Wave is building a cashless Africa and needs an IT Operations Associate to keep its office networks and telephony services running smoothly. You will ensure reliable internet, SMPP and SIP connections, and provide first‑line support to employees and partners across multiple African locations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain internet connectivity at office sites with 99.9% uptime and liaise with external ISPs.
• Ensure the reliability of SMPP (SMS) and SIP (voice) connections for customer notifications.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to manage tickets, troubleshoot network and telephony issues, and support Product & Engineering teams.
• Assist in the design, deployment, and configuration of new systems and network infrastructure.
• Support onboarding of new employees with hardware, software, and IT best‑practice guidance.
• Manage permissions, hardware inventory, and respond to user queries on software and hardware operation.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with network and telephony operations in a multi‑site environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues, interpret ISP and platform logs, and resolve incidents quickly.
• Comfort working in an on‑call rotation and collaborating with external suppliers.
• Strong communication skills to support employees, partners, and cross‑functional teams.
