IT System Infrastructure Superintendent

About the role

Under the supervision of the IT/OT/IS Manager, the IT System Infrastructure Superintendent will ensure the availability, performance, security and sustainability of the company's IT infrastructure. The role covers servers, storage, virtualization, cloud and network services across a mining operation.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee the availability, reliability and performance of all IT infrastructure components.
• Monitor and administer servers, storage, virtualization, cloud and network services.
• Plan capacity and optimise the use of IT resources.
• Manage updates, patches, configurations, migrations and deployments.
• Oversee incident handling, coordinate resolutions and drive continuous improvement.
• Define, test and maintain backup and disaster‑recovery plans.
• Ensure capacity, performance and availability of SAN, NAS and DAS storage solutions.
• Coordinate vulnerability management, threat mitigation and cybersecurity activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or team‑lead role.
• Proven experience in systems and server administration, backup/disaster recovery, cybersecurity, virtualization and storage technologies.
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Security+, CEH, ITIL, project‑management) are desired.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Virtualization platforms: VMware and Hyper‑V.
• Storage solutions: SAN, NAS and DAS.
• Backup and disaster‑recovery technologies.
• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Cybersecurity and vulnerability‑management tools.
• Capacity planning and system performance monitoring.
