Legal Advisor – Mining Company

About the role

The Legal Advisor will provide comprehensive legal support to Mutanda Mining, ensuring that all contracts and corporate activities comply with DRC legislation. Reporting to the Legal Superintendent, the role focuses on drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts while mitigating legal risks.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and administer commercial and mining‑related contracts.
• Maintain and update the company’s contract database and monitor contractual obligations.
• Prepare legal reports, executive summaries and compliance documentation for internal stakeholders.
• Provide legal advice on corporate, regulatory, labour and mining matters.
• Support litigation management and corporate governance activities.
• Track legislative developments affecting the mining sector and advise on necessary actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in contract law and legal document management.
• Proven ability to draft, review, negotiate and administer commercial contracts.
• Experience advising on corporate, commercial, labour or mining‑related legal issues.
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
• Knowledge of the Democratic Republic of Congo legal framework, especially mining, labour, commercial and corporate law.

Required skills

• Excellent legal drafting, negotiation and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with legal document management systems.
