Logistics Manager

About the role

The Logistics Manager oversees logistical support for the country programme and provides strategic direction, management and evaluation of all aspects of the logistics department, ensuring relevant information, reporting and accountability requirements are met. The role also guides and coaches the in‑country logistics team to ensure timely, robust supply‑chain management and smooth coordination with programme teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for compliant and effective supply‑chain management across procurement, logistics, fleet, facilities and asset management.
• Support procurement planning, identify optimal supply routes and maintain an up‑to‑date overview of supply needs.
• Ensure logistics activities comply with Medair, donor, national and international regulations and implement anti‑fraud controls.
• Line‑manage team members, fostering performance, capacity building and an inclusive work environment.
• Engage proactively with suppliers, partners, local authorities, NGOs and clusters to coordinate distribution of goods and materials.

Required profile

• Professional qualification in logistics and management experience in an emergency or development context.
• Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
• Advanced planning, coordination, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong coaching skills and ability to train cross‑cultural teams.
• Excellent IT knowledge, especially Microsoft Office applications.
