Logistics Manager

About the role

The Logistics Manager will lead end‑to‑end logistics operations for an electric vehicle company operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role covers international shipment planning, customs clearance, bonded warehousing and plant‑level dispatch, ensuring compliance with local regulations and cost‑efficiency targets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute international ocean and air freight bookings, manage PVOC inspections and ensure all documentation (Certificates of Conformity, incoterms) is in place for customs clearance.
• Oversee bonded and free‑warehouse operations, maintain FIFO/FEFO inventory practices, and supervise dispatch scheduling for plant supply.
• Monitor shipment progress using digital logistics platforms (GoComet, Windward, SeaVantage) and digital container visibility tools, communicating proactively with carriers and port authorities.
• Negotiate service level agreements with logistics service providers, optimise last‑mile delivery routes, and ensure road transport safety and cost efficiency across the DRC.
• Develop and track logistics KPIs, produce performance reports for senior management, and drive continuous process improvement through technology.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics or a related field with 7–10 years of logistics management experience, preferably in automotive or EV sectors.
• Proven expertise in international shipments, bonded warehousing, customs clearance and a strong understanding of Incoterms and DRC customs regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities, with experience managing cross‑border logistics teams and vendor relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle or Odoo.
• Hands‑on experience using digital logistics tools like GoComet, Windward and SeaVantage for container visibility.
• Knowledge of Incoterms, PVOC inspection processes and DRC customs procedures.
