Maintenance Planner – Shutdown

About the role

The Maintenance Planner – Shutdown will coordinate and schedule all maintenance and shutdown activities for Kamoto Copper Company’s mining operations. Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Planner, you will ensure that shutdowns are executed safely, on time, and within resource constraints, supporting maximum plant availability.

Key responsibilities

• Define shutdown scope by analysing work orders, identifying critical activities and validating tasks with stakeholders.
• Develop detailed maintenance work plans, specifying methods, tools, equipment and material requirements.
• Coordinate with supply‑chain and vendors to secure necessary materials and resources before work starts.
• Prepare and optimise shutdown schedules, analyse critical paths and adjust sequences to meet deadlines.
• Monitor daily execution, track deviations, update performance indicators and produce progress reports.
• Manage scope changes, assess impacts on cost, timeline and resources, and keep planning documentation current.
• Handle urgent interventions, evaluate their effect on downtime and support approval processes.
• Document lessons learned, prepare closing reports and contribute to continuous improvement of shutdown processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in planning and coordinating technical shutdowns or large‑scale maintenance projects.
• Strong analytical skills to assess work scope, critical paths and resource requirements.
• Ability to work closely with maintenance, operations, supply‑chain and contractor teams.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting to stakeholders and facilitating meetings.
