Mining Account Manager – Technical Support for Copper Hydrometallurgy

About the role

Syensqo is seeking a Mining Account Manager to provide on‑site and remote technical support for copper hydrometallurgy and solvent extraction operations. You will work directly with mining customers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, ensuring circuit stability, recovery, and safety while protecting revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical support for leaching, clarification, solvent extraction, stripping and electrowinning circuits.
• Analyse plant and laboratory data, identify performance gaps and propose actions to improve stability, recovery and reagent performance.
• Conduct chemical and physical audits of solvent extraction units, focusing on safety, reagent handling and operating practices.
• Plan and execute laboratory, bench‑scale and field tests to support product selection and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and action plans for customers and internal teams.
• Train customer personnel on product use, process fundamentals, safety practices and performance improvement, including training in Mandarin Chinese when required.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to introduce and qualify new chemistries for the mining industry.

Required profile

• Experience in copper hydrometallurgy or related mining processes.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
• Willingness to spend extended periods on‑site in the DRC and travel to customer mines.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
• Commitment to safety, health and environmental compliance.
