Mission Driver

About the role

Under general supervision and following established driving procedures, the driver operates a delivery van or automobile within a city or area to transport visitors, guests, employees, packages, mail, materials, merchandise, or equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Transports people or delivers goods to destinations safely, applying knowledge of driving regulations and local roads.
• Verifies goods against shipping documents.
• Maintains vehicle logs and performs basic maintenance.
• Inspects the vehicle regularly to ensure optimal performance and operation.
• May load and unload the vehicle.
• May provide emergency roadside repairs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school education or equivalent.
• At least one year of previous work experience.
• Previous driving experience with a good driving record and safety mindset.
• Possession of an appropriate driver’s licence.
• Basic knowledge of auto mechanics.
• Ability to follow directions and/or maps.
• Basic reading, math, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to care for and highly regard church vehicles and equipment.
