MTC Teacher – Missionary Training Center

About the role

The MTC Teacher supports missionaries in their spiritual and practical preparation, helping them receive the restored gospel and develop essential skills. This entry‑level individual contributor works under the Training department to deliver curriculum‑based instruction across a range of settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one coaching, small‑group facilitation, and large‑group workshops for missionaries.
• Plan and prepare lessons in coordination with a companion teacher, following approved curricula.
• Monitor Canvas participation, discussion boards, and assess language proficiency when required.
• Report progress and needs to supervisors, attend weekly training meetings, and support area leadership.
• Assist with special initiatives such as pilot programs, role‑play scenarios, and temporary duties at the MTC.

Required profile

• Must be a returned missionary.
• Fluent in English and the specified second language (for language‑teaching positions).
• Outstanding coaching, facilitation, and training abilities.
• Strong interpersonal, prioritization, professionalism, and leadership skills.
• Self‑motivated, receptive to feedback, and able to work well with others.

Required skills

• Fluency in a second language (where applicable).
• Knowledge of Preach My Gospel curriculum.
• Understanding of effective language‑learning strategies (for language‑teaching roles).
