Network Demand & Planning Manager

About the role

The Manager SRAN Optimization leads all activities related to Radio Network Optimization across 2G/3G/4G/5G, ensuring high quality of service, excellent user experience and efficient use of network resources.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily, weekly and monthly network performance analysis and track KPIs according to Vodacom guidelines.
• Define and implement optimization roadmaps per region and technology, leading campaigns for new sites, refarming, DSS, VoLTE and other network changes.
• Manage a team of optimization engineers and coordinate with vendors (Huawei, ZTE, Accenture) and cross‑functional teams such as planning, rollout, transmission and core network.
• Develop procedures for drive‑test analysis, parameter tuning and KPI monitoring, ensuring best practices and standardisation.
• Promote AI/ML and automation tools for anomaly detection, self‑healing and database integrity.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in network optimization, engineering or performance management.
• Bachelor’s degree (BAC+5) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related field.
• Strong knowledge of LTE, CDMA, GSM, UMTS and preferably 5G technologies.
• Experience with multi‑vendor environments and regulatory KPI engagement.

Required skills

• Optimization tools: OSS/UME/U2000, Huawei PRS, Smart Care.
• Data analytics and scripting: Excel, SQL (or similar), custom analysis automation.
• Drive‑test and RF parameter tuning tools such as TEMS, Atoll, Sonar.
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
