Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer (Freelance)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer to provide break‑and‑fix services for enterprise infrastructure in the Congo region. This freelance, on‑call position involves both onsite and remote support, requiring strong technical expertise and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver onsite and remote break‑and‑fix support for networking and infrastructure incidents.
• Deploy, configure, and manage Nutanix HCI environments (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, virtualization, and network issues.
• Resolve network connectivity problems (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
• Implement and support backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Respond to critical incidents within agreed response times.
• Collaborate with global and regional teams on infrastructure and cloud projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and incident reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, networking, or IT support engineering.
• Valid CCNA certification with at least a 90 % score on the induction assessment.
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work independently in customer‑facing environments with a professional demeanor.

Required skills

• Nutanix AOS, AHV, Prism.
• VMware and/or Hyper‑V environments.
• TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.
• Backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• PowerShell and/or Python scripting.
• CCNA networking knowledge.
